What skills are needed in the future, in your domain and your part of the world?

By Erik Korsvik Østergaard, 17. December 2021.

Coursera (a massive open online course provider founded in 2012; in 2021 it was estimated that about 150 universities offered more than 4,000 courses through them) has released a “Global Skills Report”, highlighting the requests for courses and upskilling in various domains and in various parts of the world.

The executive summary highlights five trends in three focus areas, and particularly interesting is the rise in female upskilling/reskilling:

“A new reskilling landscape is opening doors that can help close inequality gaps.”

And, the report highlights the opportunity for just-in-time learning (instead of just-in-case):

“75% of active learners spend less than three hours per week on coursework to advance their careers.”
