The debate on hybrid work continues.

By Erik Korsvik Østergaard, 1. September 2021.

In the debate on hybrid work, different organizations take different approaches. Some are going fully remote. Others are making it fully optional or making social events in the office mandatory. Yet others differ between production and innovation, encouraging employees to seek the company of others when they need inspiration, creativity, or ideation.

Adding to that, should where you live affect your paycheck? Google seems to say yes. Others say no, as remote work, being a digital nomad, or work-from-anywhere allows for employees to perform their work how they see fit.

“Our compensation packages have always been determined by location, and we always pay at the top of the local market based on where an employee works from,” a Google spokesperson said, adding that pay will differ from city to city and state to state.

There is absolutely a megatrend in hybrid work – and we’re not done discussing it.
